Our Story

Blue Goose Co-op

The Blue Goose Gallery is a co-op and displays the work of 40+ wonderful artists, many of whom call the Northstate home. Please stop in and feel the calm of the gallery as you delight at the variety of top-shelf artwork. From May to October, the Blue Goose Gallery hosts a free  featured artist reception on the First Friday of each month, where people can meet our artists and watch demonstrations of various techniques. The origins of the gallery date back to 1991 when artist Deb Groesser opened her first art gallery in the Chester / Lake Almanor area. Over years of constantly improving and expanding the gallery, its client base grew and the gallery became a very special part of the community. In 2014 the gallery transitioned to a co-op status, and is managed by a board of directors. In 2016, a sister gallery – the Blue Moose Art Gallery – was opened in Fort Collins, Colorado. The Blue Goose showcases some of its sister gallery’s artists’ artwork in “small space” exhibits. And in 2023, the Blue Goose moved to a beautiful new space on Clifford Drive.
